Xi’an is famous all across China for what is called in Chinese 小吃 [xiao chi], which litterally means “little eat” and could be translated in English as “snacks”. All around the city, outside on the streets, you can find people selling food from a wide variety of gastronomies, ranging from conventional Chinese cuisine to that of the many ethnic minorities living in China.
